April 4th-
Today i had contacted the person who i'll be using to take images of. I'm also going to be using his camera for the pieces. We discussed about location shoots and lighting, and what days we should go out shooting as i wanted natural lighting in my photographs. I didn't want the images to look too "staged" so the locations where just going to be up against brick walls etc... This was so it would be easier for me to edit in photoshop when it comes to the point where i have to render the focal out.
April 13th-
Today the model i'm using (ryan hall) had arrived with his camera and ready to take some photographs. After some discussion about what i plan to do to the images and what i'll be manipulating, i had him pose in the right angles that i had planned out for the final edits. We took roughly around 150 photographs today. Some where scrapped as they were test shots etc.
April 15th-
Editing day, i gathered some of the images together and rendered out the model in my photographs using pen tool. No further edits where made minus making the .png image with no background/black background.
April 29th-
This day was another photoshoot. This time my model had brought some other people along for the photoshoot incase i needed to incorporate more people in my photographs. Though it wasn't needed afterall, i had taken the images and gathered a few that i'd like to use in one of my final pieces.
April 30th-
Editing day, the gathered images i selected the day before were rendered out with no background, but today i burned and dodged on a duplicate layer just to get the correct lighting to the piece, and add some depth to the photograph itself.
May 6th-
today i had edited one of my final pieces"faun". I had gathered one of the images i had rendered previously and collected a few free resources which i thought where suitable for me to create the piece.
May 8th-
Today was another final piece day, i had created the dopple ganger piece and started on my Heimdall piece. For the doppleganger piece, a huge inspiration was the tekken games, as i used their view of "power" by using splatters in my piece to reprisent corruption.
May 9th-
After finishing the dopple ganger piece, i finished off my Heimdall piece. I used two focals in the image and once again used free resources from deviantart of lightning and cloud stocks. Feathers where used to create an armour look, they where also free resources on deviantart.
May 19th-
Today i created my Odin piece. I used multiple imagery on this one but mainly containing feathers to crete his armour. Skulls, clouds and trees where used in the process of creating the image. I had also digitally painted some of the effects on the face and added my own selective colours and gradients to compliment the piece nicely, giving it that asgard feeling.
May 22nd-
today i wrote up some of the progression tactics i went through to create my pieces, i print screened some layers and shown the progress through a clip. I did the progression images and some of the text for nearly all of the pieces created.
May 25th-
Today i finished up the progression images and paragraphs that i had written previously to show how i've made my pieces. I had also discussed with my model about another quick photoshoot.
May 26th-
My model got back to me informing me that he's not going to be able to have a photoshoot as he can't make it untill the deadline is over, giving me no time to create any more images.
may 30th-
Today i freshened up some of my blog and re-organized it. Some parts where slightly wrong and i forgot to add my inspiration page which i first created as a powerpoint to show blue(college tutor) for my pitch. I added some more information about how music and movies are also my inspiration, not just artists.
